JV Football, Varsity Football · Miners Hold Off Leopards


The Bingham Miners were able to hold off a late attack of the East Leopards to take a pivotal region win  on Friday night in Ron Thorne Stadium.  The Miners stood up and marched backwards a 2 point conversion attempt by the Leopards with less than :30 on the clock.  Leading the defensive front was senior Torrey Ki.  The Miners started the game off with the first score of the evening coming in the 2nd quarter with a 70 yard run by Mason Christiansen.  This was followed up by a 47 yard field goal by Brenton Lim.  The Leopards were then able to run the ball into the end zone and capitalize on a 2 point conversion to send the score to 9-8 at the half.  Check the highlight video for all the action from Friday nights game.  The Miners came out of the half with a great couple of drives with the final one of the third quarter adding another touchdown to the scoreboard.  This touchdown came on a 1 yard run from Preston Larson with the PAT by Brenton Lim.  Check out the highlight video for all the action from another classic Bingham-East showdown, this time ending with the Miners collecting the Friday Night Rivals trophy to show for it!.
