The Lady Miners won both of their opening day matches today to secure a place in the state semifinal game.
In their opening match Bingham won a 5-set thriller over Herriman 24-26, 25-18, 25-23, 16-25 and 15-11. The Miners were led offensively by Senior Middle Blocker, Ava Rasmussen with 14 kills and Senior Setter Brynlie Huntsman dishing out 44 assists. The win moved Bingham to the quarterfinal game where they defeated Syracuse in four sets 25-16, 26-28, 25-7, 25-20. Against Syracuse the Miners were led by Senior Outside Hitter, Journey Tupea, who registered a double-double with 25 digs and 11 kills, while Senior Right Side Hannah Thompson had the match high 15 kills.
Bingham will play Pleasant Grove for a third time this season, this time with a chance to play for a State Championship. The teams split the regular season contest one match each.
The semifinal game will be played at the UCCU Center at UVU on Saturday, November 3 at 10:00am.
